Actor Ranveer Singh remembered musician Wajid Khan in a heartfelt post on his Instagram stories on June 1. Wajid Khan of the acclaimed Sajid-Wajid duo died in Mumbai’s Surana Hospital due to complications arising from a kidney infection on Monday. He was also suffering from Covid-19. He was 42.
On his Instagram stories, Ranveer posted a monochrome image of Wajid Khan from one of his concerts along with a broken heart emoji.

The news of Wajid Khan’s death was first confirmed by musician Salim Merchant, who tweeted saying, “It’s a huge loss to our fraternity. I’m shocked and broken.”

While speaking to news agency PTI after Wajid Khan’s death, Salim Merchant added, “Wajid had multiple issues. He had a kidney issue and had a transplant a while ago. But recently he got to know about kidney infection. He was on a ventilator for the last four days after his situation started getting worse. Kidney infection was the beginning and then he got critical.”
Along with his brother Sajid Khan, Wajid composed most of the songs of Salman Khan’s films and is also credited for the music of the superstar’s new song Bhai Bhai.
Sajd-Wajid made their debut in Bollywood with Salman Khan’s 1998 film Pyaar Kiya Toh Darna Kya and subsequently composed music for Hello Brother, Veer, Wanted, Partner as well as the Dabangg franchise apart from films including Main Tera Hero and Rowdy Rathore.
Lagan Lagi from Tere Naam, Laal Dupatta from Mujhse Shaadi Karoge, Hud Hud Dabangg, Anarkali Disco Chali from Housefull 2 and Fevicol Se from Dabangg 2 are some of Sajid-Wajid’s blockbuster songs.
