Say no to drugs: GV Prakash and Rajiv Menon collaborate for a music video

Every year, June 26, is obeserved as International Day against Drug Abuse and Illicit Trafficking in an intention to create a drug-free society. Many celebrities across the globe are sharing creative videos to raise awareness about the problems that occur due to illicit drugs.

Now, popular composer-actor GV Prakash and filmmaker Rajiv Menon have come up with a short music video that sends out a powerful message against drug abuse and trafficking. Titled Say No To Drugs, the song has been sung and composed by GV Prakash. Renowned writer Madhan Karky has penned the lyrics for the song.

The song was released by Sony Music South, on their official Twitter handle. They wrote, “A special video by @gvprakash right here for you #SayNoToDrugs ! Here’s to a world free of drug abuse! (sic).”

Madan Karky took to Twitter to share a portion of the lyrics that he wrote for the song. “Yarukkilai sogam, yarukillai tholvi, bodhai enbadhu theervalla, saavai thirakkum saavi (sic),” the post read.

It is worth mentioning that director Rajiv Menon had earlier collaborated with GV Prakash for a film titled Sarvam Thaala Mayam, which garnered good response from the audience. Sources say that the two are also in talks for another project, which they will announce soon.

Meanwhile, celebrities like AR Rahman, Vivekh and others also shared video messages condenming drug abuse and illicit trafficking.
