Vathikkalu Vellaripravu: Aditi Rao and Dev Mohan are in love in new song from Sufiyum Sujatayum

Ahead of the film’s release, the makers of Sufiyum Sujatayum have released the new song titled Vathikkalu Vellaripravu starring Aditi Rao and Dev Mohan.

Sufiyum Sujatayum is the next South Indian film to have a direct release on an OTT platform. The musical love story starring Aditi Rao Hydari, Dev Mohan and Jayasurya will stream on Amazon Prime Video from July 3 onwards. Ahead of the film’s release, the makers released a new song titled Vathikkalu Vellaripravu.

The first song of the movie was launched by some of the biggest names of the South film industry – Dulquer Salmaan, Nani and Karthi.

The four-minute-odd long song is a musical treat to everyone. Within an hour of release, the song has clocked in over 7,000 views on YouTube. The soothing melody song, composed by M Jayachandran, was rendered by Arjun Krishna, Nithya Mammen and Zia Ul Haq.

In a statement, composer M Jayachandran spoke about his experience of working in Sufiyum Sujatayum. He said, “It is a musical love story and understandably music plays a key role. Each song has been crafted very carefully and resonates with the movie’s tone, mood, and story.”

Speaking about the song, he explained, “Vathikkalu Vellaripravu is a poignant song that brings out the innocence and endearment of new-found love and companionship. Set to beautiful constructed cinematic shots, the song is our ode to pure, innocent love. I hope audiences enjoy the song.”

Directed by Naranippuzha Shanavas, the film is produced by Vijay Babu under his banner of Friday Film House.

Sufiyum Sujatayum follows the story of Sujata, who is mute. She is in love with a Sufi priest played by Dev Mohan. However, Sujata’s dad gets her married to an NRI (played by Jayasurya). What happens when Sujata comes back to her village years after his marriage forms the rest of the story.
